Long before Americans had McDonalds, there was the White Tower chain. These beautiful art deco restaurants dotted the eastern half of the US from the mid 1920s up until the early 70s. It is probably debatable whether they were better known for their architectural style or for the price of their burgers — a nickel!
This piece, rather than being modeled after a single actual location, is a composite of details taken from several different restaurants.
